I’m EXCITED (and NERVOUS!) to be The Rutgers University Council on Children’s Literature 2017 Success Story Speaker!
I can never thank Kitty Griffin, Trinka Hakes Noble, and Tara Lazar enough.
Usually, a conference makes me stress a little about what-to-wear. But now – NOW! – I get to stress A LOT about . . . WHAT TO SAY!!!
October 21.
That’s coming up!
I better get busy.
An outfit AND a speech!?!
Bring on the chocolate chips!

As a first-time mentee at RUCCL, I am excited and nervous, too!
Chocolate chips are definitely in order (under any circumstances), but know you also have an audience of people like me…happy for your success and eager to eat up every word you utter. Plus, I was born in Pittsburgh and lived there for many years, so you know I have to be friendly.

Three cheers for friendly Pittsburgh peeps! Congratulations, too – you will LOVE the conference. I look forward to meeting you.

I am so impressed by the wisdom and encouragement you provided with so many cool references such as Amy Schumer’s book, your sons playing basketball, and Mother Teresa. Thank you so much!
